Raymond at LEGOLAND, DK

MY BACKGROUND

Beginning in the early 1990s with the first campaigns to use interactive media for marketing and brand communications - as a producer, game designer, creative lead, and content director - I've led production on a wide variety of innovative and award-winning website, game, cd-rom, and visual effects projects.

At LEGO.com I led content and creative development on a half-dozen websites supporting various LEGO toy product lines. This included fourteen web-based games and an online film school for kids that was featured as "Site of the Week" by both Design Interact and Macromedia, and was awarded the Art Directors Club Distinctive Merit Award.

I also worked on concept development for new toys with the LEGO technology group in the UK, and most recently, as a member of the Clikits global brand management team, participated in developing the launch strategy for a major new toy brand for girls.

Prior to LEGO, I was director of the 3D department at Icon Nicholson, where my team built a photo-realistic recreation of a 17th century Native American village and fort based on archaeological data. Our work was featured in both the animation festival and the Electronic Theatre at SIGGRAPH as "one of the year's most outstanding works" of animation and visual effects. I also designed and directed visual effects work for a New York Lottery television spot for DDB Needham, as well as created a photo-realistic fly-through of the original Pennsylvania Station in New York City.

I am a graduate of the American Film Institute Center for Advanced Film Study and earned my M.A. in International Relations at The Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies. As an undergraduate I attended Macalester College.
